It would have been another banner year for my grape harvest had it not been for the marauding deer making nocturnal visits. They are less concerned with the actual grapes themselves. Instead they have been stripping the leaves for the past several months. Robbing leaves from the vines saps the plants’ energy and consequently the bunches are speckled with some ripe but others green. Someday I’ll have a fence and grapes and big barrel of wine. Someday.
